Reviews for LG Optimus GT540 Unlocked GSM Quad-Band Phone with 3 MP Camera, Android OS, Touch Screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth -No Warranty - Titanium Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory) PROS:
The cellphone does the whole lot desired: Unlocked, quad band, wi-fi, bluetooth, threeG, syncs with google, takes pictures, plays track, movies, games...etc. I bought it mainly for the usage of SIMs for pay as you go money owed both in US and out of the country, and a bit of of surfing/emailing when wi-fi is to be had.
CONS:
Screen distinction is tricky to see outdoor, but I haven't looked to see if there's a environment for that. Not a deal breaker.
Unfortunately, it's LG and troublesome to get an replace to Android 2.1 whereas in States, so 1.6 must do for most of us....LG has but to see all the red-tape kinks, and the cellphone isn't technically fortifyed in USA. So US residents could have a hard time determining easy methods to use the USB cable for the rest other than charging, like getting a PC pc to communicate with the SD card (Maybe Linux and Apple customers are having an easier time with it?) And it didn't include a CD and even link to download tool for syncing it to your pc...
If most effective LG would understand that their merchandise are being offered in US and lobby somewhat tougher for permitting full toughen, whatever the communitys and device developers...
Also, as a outcome of it's simplest OS 1.6 (Donut), you aren't accredited to use the SD card for executable apps (i.e. amplify your cellphones internal memory), and may handiest use it for storage and playback, and file/app backups.
Note that I've speedy discovered that an internal 200 MB would not get you very a methods...
Reviews for LG Optimus GT540 Unlocked GSM Quad-Band Phone with 3 MP Camera, Android OS, Touch Screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth -No Warranty - Titanium Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory) I've never written a negative overview for either amazon or ebay, however this deserves it. The description evidently states this cellphone is UNLOCKED. It is no lengthyer. It is locked and you wish to purchase an liberate code to make use of the cellphone. To describe the cellphone as unlocked and then record at&t and t-mobile as carriers this telephone will routinely work with is a flat LIE. Amazon cannot let OEM store sell this with that description.
Reviews for LG Optimus GT540 Unlocked GSM Quad-Band Phone with three MP Camera, Android OS, Touch Screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth -No Warranty - Titanium Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory) If you read the advert for this item, it says in both the headline and description that it's "Unlocked". Then if you happen to read on, it says that it's free uped and will work with AT&T and T-Mobile. I figured this was the very easiest solution, due to the fact that I needed an Android cellphone, to ride out the remaining four months on my T-Mobile contract. The phone arrived, i put in my sim card, put within the battery, became it on, and straight away it said "Network Locked" on the reveal. This means the phone shouldn't be "Unlocked" as advertvertised, and requires an liberate code to be bought from a web page. Those codes ranged anywhere from $25-40 on the web sites I checked. Then after you purchase the code, most web sites take a further three6-48 hours to e-mail you the code. If the telephone is advertvertised as releaseed, you shouldn't have to pay a further value just to make it work with a service checklisted as ok for this cellphone. In truth, this will additionally be a sure euro cellphone. The charger for the phone as a euro finish on it, which needs to be plugged into a US converter, and then into the wall. Again, simply stressful. Don't was oncete your time or money on this phone, it is going to simply irritate you. I despatched mine again within an hour of getting it from UPS. Spend the advertditional 25-40 bucks it goes to value you to liberate it, and get a better cellphone. I'd provide this bad celebritys if it would let me. Thumbs down.
